Race and YTD point awards and standings will be based upon the driver’s top twelve (12) race finishes for the year. Example: If you compete in all fourteen (14) races for the 2012 season; at year end your top twelve (12) results will be added up to give you your final points award for your Class Championship.
Each Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy driver participating in a race shall receive competition points based on their finishing position as follows:
| 1st = 20 pts | 5th = 8 pts | 9th = 3 pts |
| 2nd = 15 pts | 6th = 6 pts | 10th = 2 pts |
| 3rd = 12 pts | 7th = 5 pts | |
| 4th = 10 pts | 8th = 4 pts |
If race is not completed due to weather, or for any reason as deemed necessary by Competent Motorsport/Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA West officials, all drivers shall receive five (5) points. All drivers in a race must complete at least one – half (1/2) of the total race laps to qualify for any points to be awarded for that race.
