Competent Motorsport had been created and established as the premier focal point of Porsche Club racing in the United States. Initially, our commitment in years 2007 – 2010, was to be the organizer of the Drivers Cup USA racing series, featuring Porsche 996 and 997 GT3 Cup Cars. In 2011, we have included the Ferrari 430 Challenge  Cars to our racing series.

The charter of Competent Motorsport is to create an environment for all participants where on race weekends drivers compete on venues while racing for the “checkered flag”. We will continue to utilize our relationship with Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and other Partners to create interactive and competitive programs through our three-day event racing programs throughout 2011. The three-day events will continue to be driving events that will include driver coaching and exercises, practice driving sessions, and sprint races. The objective is to create “competitive” seat time to further educate and develop the driver’s race craft.

A critical component of the Drivers Cup USA racing series will be the Drivers Cup USA education series where drivers are given the opportunity to participate in advanced driving technique clinics with professional coaching drivers as well as participating in one-on-one coaching sessions on mastering “car control”, “situational awareness”, and utilizing the technology of their car in a race environment. This level of mentoring from coaching drivers being offered from Competent Motorsport during the race weekend is not available at any other Club or post level events. While you are racing and learning we want at the end of the weekend for our drivers to return home being a more competent and knowledgeable racer. The only difference is really the driver!
